Simple Office

What it is

Most people are not authoring a hundred-page report. They receive a .docx or .xlsx, change a few lines, and send it back — and the only thing that matters is that it still looks right when it lands. That is the whole product.

Free alternatives exist and are good. The reason people keep paying for Office is fidelity: their file opens wrong somewhere else. So the work here is not features, it is not breaking the document — and being honest about the ceiling. Complex layouts, macros and tracked-change-heavy legal documents belong in the real thing.

It runs on your Mac. The file never leaves it, and there is no monthly bill.

In development. Scope is deliberately narrow: edit-and-return fidelity, not a full Office replacement.
